I designed this logo for my husband’s iOS game title Meowtopia.
Currently working on its UI design, respecting his existing codes and layout but to update the UI to my liking.
Here is a before and after.
BEFORE
So this is a universal layout. This works for iPad horizontally, vertically, and iPhone vertically by this one setting.
It is trickier to design because it has to work on the 3 layouts and a whole different dimensions.
Luke did a decent job but a lot of little things bugged me, like, lack of logo presence, corner radius, fact that every single level has represented by the same star icons, and etc. I love how he did the ripple effect when touching the cat though, the cat meows and the ripple appears.
AFTER
This is what I designed, respecting the codes that already exists. It’s a quick face lift.
First I designed the logo. Defined many sections in gradients instead of white lines. Took out many corner radius and added lines between levels, when the line is white, you can advance to the next level. He likes to use hideous highlight marker greens typically, but I toned it down to pretty plant greens. I think it works well!
You can play Meowtopia on most iOS device, iPhone 5 and above and recent iPads!
